Celebration Concert Postponement and New Date
Unfortunately we had to postpone of Celebration Concert which was due to take place on Monday March 3rd 2025.
We are delighted to announce that our new concert date has just been confirmed for Tuesday 6th of May 2025.

Our piano students enjoyed a wonderful day participation in our Piano Festival on Saturday February 8th 2025.
Darina Gibson and Edward Holly were, as always, astute and wise in their adjudications.

The adjudicators each chose a student from the categories they adjudicated who will perform a solo item in or Celebration Concert in The Helix on May 6th 2025 along with the winner of the Betty Healy Cup winner, Neeve Batacan.
The students chosen were Varvara Gordienok and Cecilia Xiao.

A note about the Betty Healy Memorial Trophy
Betty Healy was a piano teacher, organist and choir director for many years, teaching privately as well as in Mount Sackville Primary School.
In 1980, she received a phone call from Mr Tomás Holt, Principal of Kylemore College. He was interested in setting up a music school. His vision was to open up music learning opportunities for students of all ages, both children and adults. So, in April 1981, the first two piano teachers were Betty along with Martha O’Neill. They started with 35 students and things grew from there. The range of instrumental and vocal teaching available grew rapidly to become the music school that we know today.
Betty retired from piano teaching in 1992. She passed away in November 2007. In 2009, in her memory, her family donated the Betty Healy Memorial Trophy for presentation to the winner of the Senior Piano competition in the Piano Festival.
That first year, the cup was presented to the joint winners of the Senior Piano Competition, Noel Collins and David O’Sullivan.
